Judith Wright< no role > the Deft in this Cause Maketh Oath that
she this Dept. hath Endeavoured to get Mary Challingworth
Samuel Allen< no role > & Edward Barton< no role > who are very Material
Wittnesses for this Dept. to attend this prsent Sessions on the
Tryal of this Cause but cannot possibly get them for that as this
Dept. Saith the sd. Mary Challingworth< no role > is in a very Sick weak &
languishing Condition & so hath been two Months past or
thereabouts & keeps her Bed & cannot attend without Manifest
Danger to her life & further this Dept. Saith that Samuel Allen< no role >
above mentioned either on Sunday or Monday last as this Dept.
was Credibly Informed by his Mother who lives with him & verily
beleives did into the County some Considerable distance from
London & will not return till latter End of next Week but to what
part this Dept. cannot get Information our Can this Depont. get
Information where the above mentioned Edward Barton< no role > is
otherwise than yt. he went into the Country some time Since in
order to give his Vote at the late Elections & hath Continued
there ever since among his friends & relations as this Dept.
is Informed by his wife & verily beleives & this Dept. Saith
yt. she is Informed by ye sd Edward Bartons< no role > wife & verily
beleives yt. he will Come to Town in about a fortnight & lastly
this Dept. Saith That by reason of the Sickness of Mary
Challingworth
< no role > & ye. absence of the sd. Allen & Barton who are
very Matterial Wittnesses in this Cause she this Dept.
Cannot safely go to Tryal of this Cause without ye. Benefit
of their Evidence
