I also complain of opression in paying to the poor
at all by reson I have Spent my Youthfull days in
the Service of the Government wherein the warse
of Spain I lost parte of my Left hand with the
hearing of my right Ear and received innumerable
wounds and Suffered two years and a quarters
imprisonment which hardships inteebly me now
that I cannot go one step but in paine I also Lost
fifty Pounds of areas which never will be payd me
which if I had had would have set me up in some
busynes whereas for the want of it I have suffered
to Extremitie Ever since I have also a Wife and
three Children to bring up and do for in another
countery because I would not Expose my miserable
condition hear where I had hopes of raising my
fortune and my families by my busines which I
was in a faire may to do till this parish oficers
disgraced me dy destraining my goods Every way
unjustly, and now I am in no Likely had of geting
a Living for myself tho my children fatherly
for me starve for want of presant bread as well
as up bringing it is an untolerable hardship
to have my poor brocken Endevours Extorted from
me and my family and given to those with whom
I have no concern who never had the ocation
to be poor as I have had naither did the house
I live in pay any poor rate before me this many
Years although posessed by Such as keept both
Servants and prentices whereas I have naither
nor any ability to keep any or busynes for them to
do it this all be not hardship I refer it to your
Serious concidderations
