Parish ofSt. James within the Libty of Westrminster
in theCountyofMiddlesex
and to the Church-wardens and
Over seers of the Poor of the Parish ofSt. Paul Covent
Garden in theSaid County of Middlx .

Whereas Complaint hath been made by you the Church-wardens
and Over seers of the Poor of the said Parish ofSt. James
unto us whose Hands
and Seals are hereunto set, two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
(Quorum unus) for theCity of Libty of West [..] ThatWilliam
Mellens
< no role > aged about forty seven years and Ann < no role >
his Wife are
lately intrudedand comeinto your said Parish of
St. James
there to inhabit asParishioners Contrary to the Laws relat-
ing to the Settlement of the Poor, andarethere like to be-
come chargeable, if not timely prevented: And Whereas, upon due
Examination and Enquiry made into the Premises,upon Oath

it appears unto us, and we accordingly adjudge, That the said
William Mellens< no role > and Ann his wife are

likely to become chargeable unto the said Parish ofSt. James
and that the last legal Place of
Settlement of the saidWilliam Mellens< no role > & Ann his
wifeis in the said Parish of
St. Paul Covent Garden
These are therefore, in his Majesty's Name, to order and require you
the said Church-wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
St. James aforesaid, that you,
or some of you, do forthwith remove and convey the saidWilliam
Mellens
< no role > and Ann his Wife
from your said Parish of St. James
to the said Parish ofSt. Paul Covent
Garden andthem,deliver
to the Church-wardens and Over seers of the Poor, there, or some or
one of them, together with this our Warrant, or Order, or a true
Copy hereof; whereby they are likewise required in his Majesty's
Name, and by Virtue of the Statutes in such Case made, forthwith to,
receive the saidWilliam Mellens< no role > and Ann his wife

into the saidParishand provide forthem
as their own ParishionersThen under our Hands and Seals, the
TwelfthDay ofJune [..] Anno Regniin they [..]
of our Lord 1733. [..] nunc Magnex Britannia [..]
