He deft. in this Judgtmt. maketh Oath that he this dept. was on monday
Last at the house of Mr George Clough< no role > in old Street in this
County to Inquire for the said George Clough< no role > and his wife Earl< no role > of
them being Material Wittneses for this dept. on this Indictemt and
this dey & Cannot find Either of them and he is Cerditably Informed
by the Neighbours there that the said Clough and his wife are
gone in to the County and that they will not return back till
a month or Six weeks hence when this dept. verily beleive they
will be in London George Wenham< no role > of the Said parish Likewise
maketh Oath that he knows of his own knowledge yt the said
George Clough< no role > & his wife are gone in to the County & this
dept. verily beleives they went oute of towne on Munday Last
He said Clough ye husband informeing him this dept that he was
to goe as on munday Lastbutin to the County of Yorke but
this dept Cannot say to what placeplacein Yorkeshire
they are gon but this dept Fuller Saith that he spoke
to the Said Clough and his wife abt. theire Appearance at
Evidence for Mr John Turner< no role > on this Indictmt; and he was
Clough Replyed that he Could not help it for the was
obleiged to goe in to Yorkeshire on buisnes of his own and
this dept John Turner< no role > Saith that the Said Clough and his
wife are meterialy wittnesses for this dept on this Indictmt withoute
whose Evedence this dept Cant proceed to tryall of the
same.
