WHEREA [..] it appeareth unto us, two of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace [..] r the said County of Midd. (Quor' Unus) by the Com-
plaint of [..] e Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of St James Clerkenwell in the said County, that
Richard Croker< no role > with Elizabeth< no role > his wife and their four Children (vizt) -
Hannah< no role > Aged bout Seven years and half Elizabeth< no role > Aged about five
years and half Ann< no role > Aged about two years and half and Mary< no role > Aged
about Sixteen Weeks are
lately come, and Intended into the saidParishofSt James Clerkenwell
Edeavouring to gain a Settlement, there contrary to Law,
and arebecome a great Charge to the saidparish
which we ad [..] dge to be true, and, Whereas, upon the Examination of
Elizabeth< no role > wife of the said Richard croker< no role > taken upon Oath, it appears to us, that the
saidRichard [..] was last legally Settled in theparish of
ofSt Sepulchre without

thathehath not since obtained any legal Settlement elsewhere:
Therefore, We the said Justices, upon the Proof aforesaid, and other Circum-
stancs, do Adjudge and Deem the Place of the last legal Settlement of the
