The humble Petition of Samuel

Humbly Sheweth


That by a certain Ordr. & under the Hands and
Seals of Mathew Hewitt< no role > and Thomas Pindar< no role > Esqr .
bearing Date. the 2d Day of August last Your.
Petitrs. said Son was Adjudged the Pntative.
Father of a Female Bastard Child borne on or
about the 22d Day of November 1718 on the
body of Ellen: Robertson< no role > Singlewoman And
there by Ordered to pay severall Sums therein.
mentioned Which said Sums Yor. Petrs said Son
by reason of his poor Circumstances and.
being out of all manner of busyness was no
waies able to pay Soe that your Petitr by his
Industry from time to time hath pried the same
and given Security to the Churchwardens of St.
James Clerkenwell for Indempnifying the same parish
That your Petr not only Labours under the
Hardshipp of paying the Mother Two Shillings
and Six Pence P Weeke for the Mainteinance of
the said Bastard Child but freguently his Family
meet with severall Insults front her

That the said Child being aged neare Five Years.
and Yor: Petr being very Desirous of having the
Educating of the same and where the said
Mother or any other person may have recourse
to it.

Yor: Petr: therefore humbly hopes this
Court will be pleased to consider his
hardshipps and to relieve him in the
prmises as to this Court shall Seem Meet
And yor Petr Shall Ever pray Etc
