Upon reading the humble peticon & appeale of Joseph
Scot
< no role > of Islington in this County Victualler exhited unto-
this Court Setting forth that by an Order Under the hands
& seales of Mathew Hewitt< no role > & William Cotesworth< no role > Esqrs . two
of his Maties. Justices of the peace for the sd. County (Quorum
unus) beareing date the fifth day of September last
past the Petr. was adjudged the putative Father of a Male
bastard child Born on the body of Judith Southby< no role >
Singlewoman within the parish of St. James Clerkenwell
in the sd. County, and by the sd. Order (amougstother things)
the Petr. was Order to pay divers Sumes of money towards
the releife & maintenance of the sd. Male bastard child
in the sd. Order of adjudicacon particularly expressed,
And that the Petr. Finding himselfe aggreived by the said
Order appeales against the same to this Court, Whereupon
It is thought fit & ordered by this Court that the benefit
of the said appeale be saved unto the sd. Appellant and
that the heareing & determining thereof be adjourned
untill the next Generall Quarter Sessions of the peace to
be holden for this County, And that the Churchwardens &-
Overseers of the poor of the sd. parish of St. James Clerkenwell
Upon notices of this Order and all persons concerned doe
attend his Maties Justices of the peace for this County to be
