Wee whose hands & Seales are hereunto Sett two of his Maties Justices of the
peace for the Said County of Middlx (quor unus) and inhabiting within the
limitts of the parish Church of the Parish of St Mary Islington in the Said
County haveing mett together & heard the Complaint of the Churchwardens
& Overseers of the poore of the Said Parish of St. Mary Islington conserning-
a female bastard Child born in the Said parish on the body of Mary-
Littlejohn
< no role > Singlewoman on the tenth day of August last past which
is baptized Annie< no role > and hoth ever Since the birth thereof been chargeable
to the Said parish and soe likely to continue, Doe find upon examinacon
of the Said Mary Littlejohn< no role > taken upon her Oath As alsoe upon the
Oath of Ann Page< no role > Midwife to her the Said Mary Littlejohn< no role > in the
Travaile & delivery of the Said Mary Littlejohn< no role > of the Said female
bastard Child & other convinceing circumstances, That John Davis< no role > of
Rose Street near Newgate Markett in the City of London Brandyman
did begett on the body of her the Said Mary Littlejohn< no role > the Said female
bastard Child, And wee doe therefore adudge him the Said John Davis< no role > -
the reputed father thereof, And doe order and appoint him the Said John Davis< no role >
forthwith upon notice of this our order to pay to the Said Church
wardens & Overseers of the poore or to some or one of them the
sume of Forty Shillings of good & Lawfull many of Great
Britaine towards defraying the charge of the Inhabitants of the
Said parish of St Mary Islington for releife of the Said female bastard
Child for the firsc form week after the birth thereof And for the charge
of her lyeing in, As alsoe that he the Said John Davis< no role > Shall
weekly & every week afterwards pay unto the Said Churchwardens &
Overseers of the poor or to Some or one of them two Shillings & Six
pence towards the releife & maintenance of the Said female bastard
Child Shall remaine chargeable to the Said Parish, And of & from the
charge thereof at all times hereafter Shall Save & keep harmless and-
indempuisie the Inhabitants of the said parish of St Mary Islington
And forthwith give Sufficient Security to the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor of the Said Parish of St. Mary Islington for the-
true performance of this order or to appeare at the next Generall
quarter Sessions of the peace to be holden for the Said County of Middlx
then & there to abide Such order as the Justices of the peace for this-
County or the more part of them Shall take in that behalfe
