Lune septimo die July 1718

This Court takeing notice that the trying of traverses after the
end of the first three days in aug [..] Generall, or [..] Quarter
Sessions of the peace holden at Hicks hall in St. John Street
in & for this County (the leave of the Court hath been granted for that purpose) doth very much retard the heareing of
appeales, discharge of Recognizances &thedispatching the
other busyness of the Court which hath been found to be very inconvenient For Prevencon of such
inconvenience for the future It is thought fit & Ordered
by this Court that noe traverse upon any Indictmt.
be hereafter tryed after the end of the first three days
ofin any Generall or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be
holden [..] for this County at Hicks hall at [..]
unless it be in some special case where the [..] & Mr. Ma [..]
is concerned, Or where anyperson or personsPrisoner or Prisoners Ind Same [..]
to be Indicted for any offence or misdemeanor shall lyes by the
under such Prosecucon and the Court shall be minded to have
such Prisoner or Prisoners tryed for the same, And to the end
that all Sollicitors & others may have notice hereof It is
further Ordered that this Order be fixed Up Upon
one of the pillars of this Court,

I this day took leave of our Judges of Assize at Appleby in
westmorland , who sett forwardsfor Lancaster , and I have
begunn my Journey for London & hope to be there on the 9th. or 10th. of
September instt. at furthest tho' the Journey is very long. I desire you
will please to give my duty to my Uncle R: Hardisty & his Lady if you
think it proper & convenient, Pray tell my Uncle Joseph< no role > Hardisty
that if Mr. Kitson who lives at Pye Corner hath Sent for an Order
concerning Tho: Norris< no role > of Cripplegate I desire he would write a
coppy of Norris's Order imediately & Send it to Mr: Kitson but not to
Sign it, for Mr. Kitson may perhaps first have it pervsed by Councell
before it is Passed, As to the other Order pray desire my Uncle
