For the mutuall Ease of this Burrough & Liberty & of the County of Middx it is at this prsent
Session orderd by the Court that his Mats Justices of the peace for the said county of Middx be
desired to order the Constables of Southminnes in Middx to convey through this Liberty towards
London such Vagrts & others as shall be taken up there or brought thither wth Passes. And that
the Chief Constables or Trearer of this Burrough & Liberty doe out of the moneys that shall be
levied on that Acct. & Quartridg moneys reimburse the sd. Constables of Southminnes the Charges they shall
be at in so doeing for that yt of this Liberty through wch they shall be so conveyed, so it exceed
not 6d. P Mile for a Cart & 3d. P Mile for an horse for such as shall be carried in a Cart or on horsbock
that are not able to goe on foot. And this Court doth further order that the Constables of Chipping
Barnett in this Liberty doe convey such as shall be taken up there or brought thither wth passes
through the sd. County of Middx towards St. Albans or Bps Hatfield. The Chief Constables or
Trearers for the sd. County of Middx reimbursing them in like manner for that pt of Middx through
wch they shall be so conveyed.

Upon Informacon given to this Court by Tho. Richards< no role > gent on behalf of the Inhitants of the
Burrough & Liberty of St. Albans in the County of Hertfd . that an Order had been made at the Genall
Quarter Sessions of the peace holden for the sd. Burrough & liberty for the Trearer of the moneys collected
for passing of Vagrts. wth in the Sd. Burrough & Liberty to satisfy the Constable of Southmnnes in this
County for his Trouble & Expences in conveying of Vagrts. for the Space of 2. Miles in the Sd. Liberty of
St. Albans towards London Vizt. between Chipping Barnett & Whetston. And therefore the Inhitants of
the sd. Burrough & Liberty prayed an Order of this Court for the Trearer of the moneys collected for
passing of Vagrts. wth in this County to satisfie the Constable of Chipping Barnett wthin the Sd. Liberty
of St. Albans for his Trouble & Expences in conveying of Vagrts from Chipping Barnett to Southmines
in the way to St. Albuns, being about 3. Miles, or to Potters Barr in the way to Bps Hatfield in the said a
County of Hertfd. This Court doth upon debate of the sd. matter & upon Informacon given them that
such Vagrts. as are conveyed from this County towards the said Burrough& Liberty of St. Allans ought
either to be conveyed to that yt of the sd. Liberty of St. Albans wch lyes next to that pt of Chipping
Barnett wch is in this County or to Ridge in the County of Hertford, but not from Whetston in this
County, doth order that it be & it is hereby referred unto Sr. Jon. Austen< no role > Barrt . Sr. David Hethebether< no role >
Knt . Rd. Woollaston< no role > Ric Brown< no role > Geo. Hadley< no role > Jos Richardson< no role > Tho. Reynolds< no role > Geo. Bourn< no role > & Marmaduke Bealing< no role >
Esqrs . Justices of the peace for this County or any 3. of them to inquire & settle the places to wth such
Vagrts as are from time to time passed from any Pt of this County in their way towards the Sd. Burrouge
& Liberty, ought to be left by the Constables of this County. And to Report their Opinions touching the
prmisses unto his Mats. Justices of the peace at the next Genall Quarter Sessions of the peace to be holden for
this County.

Forasmuch as it is the Opinion of this Court that the Constables in Middx by the Statute made 12 o.
Anna nup Regni for reducing the Lawes relateing to Rognes Etc. into one Act of Parliamt. Etc are obliged to
convey such Vagrts. as are taken up there, or brought thither wch passes their sd. County of Middx
& ought not to leave them at Chipping Barnett wth in this Liberty as they have done of late. This Court
doth therefore order that the Constables of Chipping Barnett aforesaid doe not entertaine any such Vagrts.
that shall be brought to them by or from any of the Constables of Middx for the future; & that from
henceforth they doe forthwth convey them to Mimes Side of Barnett in the sd. County of Middx as of [..]
as any such Vagrts. shall be brought thither, or left there as aforesaid.

St. Albans Aug 6th. 1717 .

Mr. Clark.

I was to waite on you yesterday, being very much concernd that you should make that
disturbance about the Vagrts. that are brought to you from Mr. Godfrey, Seeing you have had no less than
3. Justices of Middx that have given you their words to see you paid the Charges you are at; You have [..]
senall Oportunities of easing yor self by the Comon Carriers & Carts & Wagons that everyday pass through yor
Town both this Road & Hatfield Road, who will take them in for a small matter. I will allow you 12d.
towards yor. Charges for every such Carriage that shall bring them hither, & will speak to the Constable of
Northminnes to doe the like for such as you shall so convey through his Constable wick to Hatfield; & when yo [..]
can't lite of such a Convenience if you will convey those that come hither to Isaac Doggets< no role > of Shendley Hill
I will allow you 12d. an horse & 2s. a Cart for such as can't walk or come otherwise; & if you will take them
quietly & case Barnett Constables of the Reliefs that they now give, I my self will reimburse you as I now doe
them so that you exceed not the Rates in the inclosed Order of Sessions till such time as the Justices meet to
settle the same who am
