John Backer< no role > of the parish of Pancras in the County of Middx
Yeoman maketh Oath That he this Deponent went a Saturday
last with four able horses of Mr. Clancys and Two men to
Gravell Cart for the Turnpite att Totnam Court , but
Mr. Mash the Surveryer refused to accept of them, the
he could have noe just Exception either to the Cast or
the hases they being as this Dept veryly beleives the
ablelest and Strongest Toeme that Coms to Work soe yt
this Dept was upon the Said Mashes refusall obliged to
return home, and in some that time after the Same day
this Dept mett Mr. Maskes with Some Gravell in
there one of which Carts had not above half a Load
And the other Cart not mach more and one of the Said Carts
the Taile board where of being soe very be & narrow
was not Capable of holding a Load; And this Dept [..]
as he belived a good Judge of what Loads ought to be
haveing been a Cartir & farme for these forty ward
Past and this Dept further Tayeth that Mr Spencer who
does not hold soe much Laud as Mr Clancy is Permitted
to work with three Teemes & Mr Burrett with two
Teemes who as this Dept belives and is Credibly
Informed work but one Teeme to the Statute Work
