Whereas upon reading the humble peticon of Vincent
Huchins
< no role > exhibited unto this Court settingforth that
the Petr. was bound Apprentice to John Bartholmew< no role >
a Gardener in the parish of Chelsea in this County for
the terme of ten yeares, of which the petr. hath already
served six yeares, dureing which time the petr. hath
been barbarously used, haveing not scarce halfe
allowance of meat & drink to sustaine his hunger,
and that the said John Bartholmew continually beats
the Petr. at his pleasure to that degree that [..] he
leaves him for halfe dead, and that the petr. hath
scarce cloathing to cover his nakedness, And the Petr.
praying that this Court would discharge him from
his said apprenticehood, It was Ordered by this Court
that the said John Bartholmew should attend this Court
on this fourth day of May instant to shew cause why
the sd Vincent Huchins should not be discharged
from his apprenticehood to the sd. John Bartholmew,
Now upon mocon made unto this Court by Councell
for the sd. JohnBaltBartholmew (in the presence of
Councell for the said Vincent Huchins) to have the
hearing of the matter of the said peticon adjorned,
It is Ordered by this Court that the hearing and
determining of the matters contained in the said
peticon be adjorned untill the next Generall Sessions
of the peace to be held for this County, And that the
