That the better to prevent papists Non Jurors & other persons disaffected to his Maties. person & Governmt. from keeping
Alehouses or selling beer ale brandy or other liquors by Retail whereby they have an opportunity todebauch
debauch the minds & alienate the affeccons of many of his Maties. good subjects, That the Justices of the peace of this County
before they grant any licence be desired to inquire into the character of the persons applying for such
licences as alsoe into the characters of the persons who offer themselves as security and that before any licence
be granted that the Justices of the peace doe tender the oaths of allegiance supremacy & abjuracon as well to the person
to whom the licence is granted as alsoe to the Security, And that before the licences already granted
(which will be expired in a short time) be renewed That the Justices of peace doe take some care that noe [..]
licence be granted or renewed to any person before he shall have taken the sd. Oaths of allegiance
supremacy & abjuracon, and alsoe that they doe take care that every person whose licence shall be granted
or renewed be bound as well as his suretys in the Recognizanceto be taken in order to his licence,
and that the Sureties be persons of substance sufficient to answer the sumes they are bound in,
