Whereas upon reading the humble peticon of Francis Geary< no role >
late Keeper of New Prison in this County exhibited unto
his Maties. Justices of the peace assembled at the last
Generall Quarter sessions of the peace held for the
said County by adjornmt. on the twenty ninth day of
April last settingforth That the Petr. by his Grace the late
Duke of Bedfords Order attended this honble. Bench wth.
a peticon to be Keeper of New Prison which was
reced, and a Comittee chose thereupon to examin
witnesses to the unsmanagemt. of Mr. Boreman then
Keeper of the said prison, Upon examinacon whereof
he was found guilty of severall unsdemeanors for
which he was discharged of his office, and the Petr.
admitted into his place, that boreman stood in contempt
& brought a Cortiorari, and remobed the proceedings
into the Queen's bench, where the same remainded high
twelve months are it was determined, which cost
the Petr. above one hundred & twenty pounds and that
in sollociting & further charges & expences before the
Petr. could be fixed in the sd place it rest him above one
hundred & fourty seven pounds And that the Petr.
continued in the said Office as Keeper for about two
yeares, and executed the same with much diligence &
honesty. dwreing which time the Petr. for the credit &
security of the said prison expended of his owne proper
money for necessary repaires & other conceinentys at
