Upon hearing of the appeale of the Churchwarden & Overseer
of the poor of the hamlett of Bethnall Green in the parish of
St. Dunstan Stepney in this County against an Order under
the hands & seales of Nathaniel Manlove< no role > & John Fuller< no role > Esqrs .
two of her Maties. Justices of the peace for this County (Quox
vuns) bearing date the tenth day of October last whereby
Elizabeth Edwards< no role > Singlewoman & her bastard daughter
named Ellen< no role > aged about one & twenty yeares who were
became chargeable to the parish of St. Giles without Cripplegate
in this County were removed from the sd parish of St. Giles
without Cripplegate to the sd. hamlet of Bethnall green as the
last place of their legall Settlemt. And Upon hearing of what
was alledged by Mr Jonathan Bray< no role > Churchwarden of the Said
hamblett of Bethnall green & alsoe by Mr. John Story< no role > one of
the Inhitants of & alsoe Sollicitor for the sd. parish of st. Giles
without Cripplegate who consented in this Court that the sd.
appeale should be allowed This Court doth allow of the sd
appeale, and doth vacate & discharge the aforesaid Order of
the said two Justices of the peace, And doth further Order that
the Overseer of the poor of the sd. hamlet of Bethnall green doe
forthwith remove & convey the sd. Elizabeth Edwards< no role > & her said
bastard daughter from the same hamlett to the sd parish of St.
Giles without Cripplegate , and deliver them to the Churchwardns.
& Overseers of the poor of the sd parish of st. Giles without
Cripplegate or to some or one of them with a coppy of this
Order who are hereby required to receive the sd. Elizabeth
Edwards
< no role > & her sd bastard daughter into their care, and provide for them as for other poor
at the charge of the Inhabitants of the sd parish of st. Giles without
Cripplegate untill they can free themselves from the charge
thereof by due course of Law.
