Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us two of
her Maties: Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx (Quorum
unus) by the Churchwarden and Overseers of the poore of the
Parish of St. Andrew Holborne in the Liberty above the
Barrs in the Sayd County of Middx That Sarah Briggs< no role >
Widdow is lately come into the sayd Pish and Liberty
endeavouring to Settle herselfe there Contrary to Law.

And it appearing to Us the sayd Justices that the sayd
Sarah Briggs< no role > is become chargeable to the sayd Liberty
And Whereas upon Examinacon of her the sayd Sarah
Briggs taken upon Oath it further appeareth unto us
that the sayd Sarah was above thirty years agoe Marryed
to her Husband John Briggs< no role > att the parish Church of
St. James Clerkenwell in the sayd County of Middx , and in
some small time after her sayd Husband lived in Adams
Rents als Brooks rents within the sayd parish of St.
Andrew Holborne in the Freedom and liberty of the City
of London where he Continued to the day of his Death
being Severall yeares and where she the sayd Sarah
Briggs< no role > alsoe Continued some yeares after his death And
it being att the time of the Forty dayes Act, wherein any
Person liveing or Cohabiting for the Space of Forty days
made them a Settlement, And alsoe finding that the sayd
Sarah Briggs< no role > hath never since been legally Settled
Else where, Wee the sayd Justices doe therefore
Adjudg. the sayd parish [..] of St. Andrew Holborn
in the Liberty and Freedom of the City of London to be
the place of the last legall Settlement of the sayd Sarah
Briggs < no role > And doe therefore in her Maties. name charge and
Command the Churchwarden and Overseers of the poore of
the Liberty above the Barrs forthwith to remove and Convey the
said Sarah Briggs from the Liberty above the Barrs in the said
County to the Liberty of the City of London in the sayd Pish
and deliver her to the Churchwarden and Overseers of the poor there or
to some or one of them who are hereby required to receive her
into their Care and provide for her according to Law: Given under our
hands and Seales this 10th. day of July Anno Dni 1711

To the Churchwarden and Overseers of the poore of the Pish of St. Andrew Hoborne in ye. liberty above barrs
in the County of Middx, and to the Churchwarden and Overseers of the poor of the sayd Pish in the Liberty and
Freedom of the City of London and to every of them.
