The Examination of Tho: Glew< no role > at the Signe of the Bullhead in Downe
-ing Sheete in the Citty of Westmr Victualer Who being accused by Adam
Starkey
< no role > Coachman to the Lady Tuston in old palace Yard for Buggering
him; For answer ther to Saith that with other Company hee was at his House
and did Stay as in his Information is Suggested Till 12a Clock or there
Abts, And then Did pretend he wd be Locked out of his Lodging And
so Desired to have a Bed for that Night, which was granted him
and the said Tho Glew< no role > & his Wife did go along with him up into a
Garrett; where Margt Glew< no role > his Wife did make him upa Capp of a [..]
Napkin sputt it on his head; and then they came Downe together Leareing
him to take his Repoose; But denys us that hee Tooke the Hatt of the said
Adam Starkey from off his Head; or that he Detained him in his sd House
or that he Bolket or Locked in his Doore or used any force to make him
goe up the Stairs to his Bed; Nor that after he & his Coife Left him
the said Adam Starky in the said Garrett the never came Neare him
any more that Night But want Directly to Bed wth his wife where
he Remained Till after Nine a Clock the Next morning

And as to the second Attempt wch the sd Sturky pretends the sd Thos Glew< no role >
offered to make upon him Hee answrs sd Saith; That Adam Starky being
at Board Wages as he informed the sd Glew & often Did Eate at his House
the sd Adam Starky on the 19th of this inst May & at Severall Times
before In returne of the Kind Usage he had Recd at his house Invited
him the said Thomas Glew< no role > to the Swan & Two Necksin Tusle Street in
his Information Mentioned & there at his owne Charge did Treate
him with Wine & Ption lazly on the sd 15 inst wth a pint of White
Wine; wch wth what he had Drunk wth his Guests had made him
Sleepie & indispoosed & therefore desired to go home But the sd. Starky
Desired his Longer Stay That they might End a Dispute That was
Like to happen abt a Watch That had been left with him as a pledge
and that he would Lye Dowice by him on the Bed To Setle that affaire
abt the Watch which when he was perswaded to do Imediately
Robt Dade in the Information Mentioned The Doore being a Jarr
came up & asked what are you a doing there & so went Downe The
Botle being Slanding & the Candle burning upon the Table and that the
Next morning the said Starkey came to his House & at Sevll other Times
of that Day to perswade the said Glew to Agree abt the Watch on that he
wou'd be Arrested abt the sd Watch before the Fryday foll; And that on
Wednesday he was arrested for the sd Watch & on Thursday Taken up wth
a Warr from St Hen: D: Colt upon pretence of the Buggary in the afored
Information Mentioned & that they Carryed the sd Thomas Glew< no role > to an
Ale house Where the sd Adam Starkey< no role > & his Confederate Rot Dade
mentioned in ye Information Threatend him the sd Glew That unless
he wd give them £200 they wd hang him after wth they got Bonds
Drawne for £150 wch he seemed to Comply with all That he might
have an Oppertunity to gilt out of their Hands to advise wth Friends
to know wt he should Do in so absured a Villany Others inns fitt upon inn her But
not wth any in tent to Earade the Saweker to abscond from Justice
