Griffis laid down a Shilling for a Wager that he would
give him the first Push upon that the Examinate cover'd
it with another Shilling then the Sd. Griffis told him he
would goe to Shap'e with him & have it at the Point
whereupon the Examinate told him he was willing then
they had a mind to take a touch of the Drum and
Griffis desir'd him to push with the Drum Sticks and
he desir'd him to for bear telling him it would disturb
the house and finding him Fractious desir'd to know
the Reckoning &whilethe Reckoning was about to
be paid Griffis wld him he had a good Mind to hit him
a Ship upon the face and the Company hinderd him
and he told him as he had Challeng'd him he would
meet him this day at Eight a Clock, and this Examinate
being upon the Guar'd bed this morning the sd. Griffis
came to him & awar'd him and the Examinate ask'd him
if he had forgot what he sd. to him last might and he
replied he had not, so at length they went over to an
Alehouse together one Mr. Blands at Tower Dock and
the sd. Griffis told him he was ready for him when he
pleas'd & bid the Examinate Stay till he fetchd by Swor [..]
and when he had fetchd his Sword severall Persons who
were in the Company diswaded them from fighting and
this Examinate offerd that if he would ask his Pardon
he would put it up, then the Examinate call'd for a Pot
of Drink and Griffis bid him come away and the
Examinate told him he hop'd he had no Matie agt. him
So the Sd. Griffis walk'd before him with one Roger Burrough< no role >
and the Examinate & one John Wadsley< no role > went after him
and when they came into the fields the sd. Griffis draw his Sworn
and the sd. Examinate bid him have a little patience and
then he drew his Sword and making Severall passes at one
