That yor. Petrs. pay greate Rents for their houses and Shopps and whereas a very
ill Customs hath for some time past been made use of in selling meate on the Lords day
yor. Petrs in complyance with yor. Works. order for the better observing the Lords day have
declined and doe for beare to sell any meate on that day yet never thelesse at Cow Cross
and
other places pery greate quantities and parcells of meate are sold on the Sundays mornings
the people who buy the same fetching itt out of Alleys and private places soe that the Sellers
thereof cannot easily bee founds out but the buyers often carry the same in greate parcells
although for the prevencon thereof yor. Petrs. keep their shopps open till 12 of the Clock on
Saterday nights.
Yor. Petrs. therefore humbly pray that for the better
putting yor. said Order in Execucon yor. Worps. wilbee
pleased to grannt yor. Warrt. for the apprehending all
such persons as shall bee soe found carrying meate on
the Lords day that they may answer the Same before
yor. Worps.
