taken upon Oath.
He Saith that about a month or Six weekes last past he harpued to
be in ye Company of William Elphingston< no role >
who then did Show this
Informant about Twenty or Thirty Small Dimonds in a black
box & asking this Informant where he might get a Costomer
for them where upon he tould the Said Elphingston
that he
might goe to Mr Johnson in Cheapside
but at he was
Informed the Said Mr Johnson did not bye the Said Dimonds
but they were Sold to Mr Fearnd at ye Golden Bellows in New=
Gate Street who gave him about Twenty five pounds for them
as the Said Elphingston
tould him He likewise Sayes that he
saw the Said Elphingston have another parcell of Dimonds
being about forty eight or fifty in number wth Elphingston
tould this Informt he had offered to Sale to one Mr peirce
at ye Signe of ye Golden Curp & Cover in Newgate Street
who
preffered Twenty pounds for them but that he had Sould
them to an other Pson for thirty pounds And likewise
he Sayes that he Saw the Said Elphingston
have a third
Pcell of Rose Dimonds wch looked very curiously & does belee [..]
They might be worth a Hundred pounds but how Elphingston
disposed of them he Knows not
