At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Sovereign
Lord the King begun and holden for the County of
Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street
in the said County on Monday the Eighth day of
July in the fifth Year of the reign of our Sovereign
Lord George the Third King of Great Britain Etc.

Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned to
keep the Peace in the County aforesaid And also to
hear and determine divers Felonies Trespasses
and other misdeeds done and committed in the
same County And from thence continued by
several Adjournments untill this day (to wit)
Thursday the Eleventh day of July in the Year
aforesaid And on the same day holden (by
Adjournment) at Hicks Hall in St. John Street
aforesaid before the above named Justices and
others their Fellows aforesaid.

Appointmt of Mr
Jefferson to be the
County Treasurer.

Whereas the Office Place or Employment of General Treasurer
for this County was at the last General Session of the Peace
holden for this County declared Vacant by the death of John
Higgs Gentleman late General Treasurer His Majestys Justices
of the Peace now Assembled in this present Session Do Nominate
Elect and Appoint James Jefferson< no role > of Chancery Lane in this
County Gentleman Treasurer in the stead and place of the
said John Higgs< no role > To Hold continue in and enjoy the said
Office place or employment together with the like Fees profits
perquisites and Allowances therewith lawfully taken had
holden and enjoyed by the said John Higgs< no role > For so long time
as the said Justices at their General or Quarter Sessions
shall see convenient and untill lawfully removed by the said
Justices and another shall be Appointed in his place And
the said James Jefferson< no role > having proposed to give his own
