Order for allowing a
County pention of
three pounds P Ann
to John James< no role > .}

Upon reading the humble peticon of John James< no role > of St.
Margaret Westminster in this County Mariner exhibited
unto this Court setting forth that the Peticoner hath Served
in the Royal Navy upwards of twenty years in which he
did his duty to the best of his ability and that the peticoner
was with the right Honble. the Lord Terrington in the
Barfleur in the Engagement with the Spanish Fleet off
of Palermo in which he received a wound in his right
Ann, which hath So contracted the Sinews as to render him
unserviceable, and the peticoners therefore humbly prayed
this Court to admitt him (amongst other poor Soldiers &
Sailers) to the benefit of a pension paid by this County by
the direccon of this Court, Now upon examinacon into the
premisses, and an produceing of proper Certificates to make
out the truth of the peticoners case Setforth in his Said
peticon as the Law in Such case directs This Court being
Satisfyed of the truth of the premisses, and that the peticoner
is an Inhabitant legally Settled in the parish of St. Margaret
Westminster in this County and that he is not a pentioner to
the Chest at Chatham , and that he is a person deserveing to
be admitted as a disabled Mariner & pentioner of this
County Doth Order that the peticoner be and he is hereby
admitted & allowed to be a disabled Mariner and
pentioner of this County, And this Court doth further
Order that the Treasurer (for the time being) of the moneys
raised to be raised for releif of maimed Soldiers and
Mariners within the Hundreds of Ossulston Edmonton
and Gore in this County Doe yearly & every year
thereout allow & pay or cause to be allowed & paid unto
the peticoner they yearly pention or Sume of three pounds
by quarterly payments to be made at Christmas Lady day
