Order touching the
Viewing & repairing
of Brantford Bridge

Information being given unto this Court that a
Publique Bridge called Brentford Bridge in this County
(which hath been usually and ought to be Repaired at the
Charge of the Inhabitants of this County) is very
much out of Repaire, and that it is necessary that the
Same should be forthwith Repaired, It is Ordered
by this Court that it be And It is hereby recommended
and referred unto James Clitherow< no role > Esquire Sir John
Gonson
< no role > Knight Sir William Ogborne< no role > Knight Robert
Thornhill
< no role > William Cotesworth< no role > John Ellis< no role > Thomas
West
< no role > Philip Willshire< no role > Thomas Milner< no role > Alexander
Ward
< no role > John Mercer< no role > Richard Gifford< no role > and William Ellis< no role >
Esquires Justices of the Peace for this County or
any three or more of them as a Committee to take
to their Assistance such able Workman or Workmen
as they shall think fit, and to take a View of the
said Bridge, and to see if the same is out of Repaire
and if any and what Repaires are Wanting and
necessary to be done thereto, And if it shall appeare
upon Such View that the said Bridge is out of repaire
Then to make an Estimate of what it will cost to
repaire the same, and to treat contract with and
employ an able Workman or Workmen for doeing
such Repaires to the said Bridge as the said Committee
shall think proper and Order to be done thereto Soe as
the Charge of doeing the said Repaires and finding and
providing the Materialls to be used in and about the
same do not exceed the Sume of Fourty pounds And
to Certify an Account in Writing of their Proceedings
touching the Premisses unto the Court of Generall or
Quarter Sessions of the Peace for this County
