this Deponent Lawrence Barrow fore himself saith that he
was Present and heard the said Grace Lazarus< no role > give evidence
against the Prisoners And that he in advised and veryly
Beleives her evidence is material and that without her
testimony the Guilt of the Prisoners cannott be proved
on this Indictment And this Deponent saith that he Had the
said Grace Lazarus< no role > in his came and custody on Wednesday
the Twenty first day of this Instant February being
the first day of this Sessions in order to go before the Grand
Jury and as a Witness on the Tryal of the Prisoners when
Two women who declared themselves the Wites of the
Prisoners requested this deponents leave to speak to the said
Grace Lazarus< no role > which being Granted by this deponent
the said Two Women conveyed the said Grace Lazarus< no role >
away out of a Back Door at the sign of the George in the
Old Bailey without the Knowledge will or consent of this
Deponent And that although this Deponent has used
diligence to retake the said Grace Lazarus< no role > in order to
Produce her as a Witness on the Tryal of the said
Prisoners he has been hither to unable to find her
And further saith that he has since seen thesaid
Wives of the said Prisoners and enquired of them
where the said Grace Lazarus< no role > was to be found when
the said Women with a sinear answered this deponents
that the said Grace Lazarus< no role > was safe enough And
this Deponent lastly saith he verily Beleives that
the said Grace Lazarus< no role > has been spirited away and is now
secreted by the means and procurement of the Prisoners to prevent
her appearing one a Witness against them and saith he verily Beleives
he shall be able to be take this said Grace Lazarus< no role > so as to produce
her [..] a Witness on this prosecution against the next Session
