Who being on Oath say and first the said Hugh Yard says that on Saturday
evening last the 21st. Instant. as this Informant
was coming along Fleet Street
, he stopped to speak
to a Person now present who calls herself Martha Lane< no role >
; and on parting
from said Martha Lane< no role >
. this Informant
Missed his Purse Containing two
Guineas and a half in Gold and Twelve shillings in Silver. and Suspecting
that said Lane had taken it he immediately charged the Watch with her.
and the said John Shade< no role >
says that when said Lane was brought to the
Watch house
he this Informant
searched said Lane and found in her
Pocket two half Crowns five Shillings and two six pences.
