Surrey Mariner late Master of the Ship or Vessel called the

William Baugdan< no role > of Banstable in the County of Deven Mariner late
Betrey Patrick< no role > John of Jooley Street Southwack in the said County
Master of the Ship or Vessel called The Bekey
and Mathew Karney< no role > of Kings Row aforesaidtwoone of the Mariners lately
belonging to the said Ship or Vessel jonitly and severally make Oath
and first the said Mahael Firth< no role > William Bawdere< no role > for himself saith that on or about
the Twelfth day of November now last past Eighty six Tons and
one Quarter of a Ten or 3450 Bushels of English refined
Salt were shipped or loaded on board the said Ship or Vessel at
Liverpool in the County of Lancaster in order to be ca [..] ed by Sea
to the port of London for and on Account of the said David Davies< no role >
and of John Davies< no role > of Bishopsgate Street aforesaid Salt Merchant
the Owners of the said Salt And these Deponents the saidPatrick
[..] and Mathew Carney< no role >
Mathew Bawdey< no role > and Mathew Karney< no role > for themselves say that on or about the
fourteenth day of the said Month November the said Ship or Vesel with the said
Salt on board her sailed from Liverpool aforesaid in order to
proceed on her Voyage to not port of London And that on or about the Seventeenth
day of the said Month of November the said Ship or Vessel with
the said Salt on board her in the Course of her Voyage to the
port of London upon the high Sea about the distance of five Leagues
from Falemonth was taken by certain persons then being on board
a certain private Ship of War belonging to Subjects of the French
King then and still being Enemies of and at War with the
bring of Great Britain And that the said Ship or Vessel with the said Salt on
board her was afterwards detained for the benefit of the Owners of
the said Private Ship of War And lastly the said David Davies< no role > for
himself saith that he and the said John Davies< no role > were the Owners of all the
said Salt soloaded on board the said Ship or Vessel as aforesaid
and that the Duties for all the said Salt hath been paid to his
Majesty
