Middlesex to Wit

The Information of Isabella Edwards< no role > of No. 7 Ship Yard
Temple Bar Spinster taken before me this 5th. day of
February 1782

Who being upon Oath says that about 7 o'Clock in the
Evening of last Saturday was a Week, she [..] used a Hair Trunk containing
three silk Gowns a Cotton Gown several Hand Kerchiefs several Aprons
Caps and Pockets a black silk Cloak and several other things And
a Deal Box containing several Gowns Petticoatt and other things to
be put into a Hackney Coach No 719 which was drove by a personors
present who calls himself Charles Barber< no role > at New Turnstile Holborn
That she asked the said Barber if he know ships Yard near Temple
[..] Bar who answered "that he did very well" That she then
desired him to drive her to ship Yard That in passing along Chancery
Lane he spoke to some person, and before he set off with his Coach
he spoke to same, other person That the said Barber instead of going to
Ship Yard stopped his Coach in Shire Lane , came from off his Box
and without any directions from the Informant took out of the said
Coach the Deal [..] Box and carried it up Shire Lane That
he neither asked her the Name or Number of the House she was
going to, but continued going up Shire Lane ; on which she go
out of the Coach and followed him telling him at the same time
that she was sure he had driven her wrong, and that the place
he was going up was not Ship Yard that she also told him she was
[..] fraid their the Tru [..] would be taken out of the Coach, by his Leasing
it, to which he answered "that there was no fair" That when she
returned back the said Trunk entaining him said Gowns and other
Apparel was stolen out of said Coach, and further says that from the
said Barbers having spoke to the two persons in coming along, and
from his employing himself in taking out and carrying the said Deal
