Middlesex to Wit


The Information of David Prothero< no role > , Moses
Murrant and< no role > Charles Jealous< no role > taken before
the this 2nd. day of February 1780

Who being upon Oath say and first the said David
Prothero for himself saith that on the 1st. day of February Instant
he went to a house No. 1 in Howford Court Fenchurch Street in the
City of London (he having received Information that one Thomas Pickering< no role >
and others were at Work at Coining there) Saith that he together with the
said Moses Murrant< no role > and Charles Jealous< no role > searched said House
and found in the Cellar of said House a Coining Press and a
large Quantity of Implements and Materials for Coining Half pence
with a large Quantity of Counterfeit Half pence and several Dies
was produced particularly two Dies found in the said Coining Press
And the said Moses Murrant< no role > for himself saith that on the said 1st.
day of February Instant he apprehended two persons now present
who call themselves Thomas Pickering< no role > and Thomas Corne< no role > at the
Crown Alehouse in Lad Lane in the City of London and on the
person of the said Thomas Pickering< no role > he found two Counterfeit half pence
now produced. And the said Charles Jealous< no role > for himself saith that in the Morning
of the said 1st. day of February Instant he saw said Thomas
Corne go into the house No. 1 Howford Court aforesaid and that
in the said House he found a Letter now produced directed to Thomas
Pickering, in Consequence of which he, with the said David
Prothero and Moses Murrant< no role > went to the Crown Alehouse aforesaid,
and there Apprehended the said Thomas Pickering< no role > and Thomas Corne< no role >
And the said David Prothero< no role > for himself further saith, that he
doth verily believe the said two Counterfeit Half pence now produced
were struck from the said two Dies, so found in the Cellar of the said
House No. 1 in Howford Court aforesaid
