Tobias Flanegan< no role > of London Mariner his Master of the Ship or Vessell called
the Croome and John Gillespy< no role > late Mate of the same Ship or Vessell severally
make Oath and say that on about the Twenty fourth day of December last
there were Shipped or Loaded on Board the said Ship or Vessell Four Thousand and Bushels
or one Hundred Tons of English White Salt at Liverpool in the County Palatine
of Lancaster in Order to be conveyed by Sea to the port of London for and on
account of Thomas Hewerdine< no role > Edward London< no role > Jonathan Bowles< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. , William
Marshall
< no role > , Mathew Dove< no role > , Abraham Green< no role > , William Hill< no role > , and John Jackson< no role >
of London Merchants the Owners of the said Salt and that the Duties for the said
salt had been paid to His Majesty and these Deponents further say that on or
about the Nineteenth day of January last the said Ship or Vessell with the said
Salt on Board her Sailed from Liverpool aforesaid for the said Port of London
and in the Course of Her Voyage on or about the Twenty Eight day of the said
Month of January a violent storm arose in lower Westcott Bay near
Margate in the Isle of Thanet which parted the said Ship or Vessell from
her Ancher and these Deponents and the Ships Crew together with the assistance
of a Pilot and five other Men were obliged to run the said Ship or Vessell into
Ramsgate Pior for safety and that afterwards & on the same day the Sea by the
violence of the Storm drove the said Ship or Vessel upon her Ancher which broke
Two holes in her Bottom that the said Ship or Vessel on the same day such [..]
perished at Sea in the said Pier notwithstanding every Assistance and care
was used and taken to saw her and her Cargo By means whereof all the said
Salt so Shipped or Loaded on Both [..] said Ship or Vessel was Totally lost
and did Perish at sea in the said Per.
