The King on the Prosecution

Robert Smith< no role > of Quality Court Chancery Lane London
Gent . [..] the Sollicitor for the Prosecutrix maketh Oath
and saith That as soon as he this Deponent was informed it was
Necessary to send for the Prosecutrix who lives in the Country
about Thirty Miles from London, to Attend the Tryal upon this
Prosecution He this Deponent sent a Messenger on purpose
a Saturday last (Which was as soon as this Deponent had notice)
to the Prosecutrix to bring her to London to Attend on the Tryal
of the Defendant on this Prosecution And this Deponent saith
That he verily beleives the Prosecutrix is now on the Road for
London but on Account of some Accident may be Delayed
And this Deponent saith That he is very certain the Prosecuting
would not on any Account Avoid Prosecuting the Defendant
She being a Material witness in support of this prosecution without whose Testimony the prosecutrix [..]
with Effect safely proceed to Tryal And this Deponent saith That she [..] has a very Clear and strong Charge against
The Defendent upon the Indictment proferred against him
and that the prosecuting is not now come to Town as this Deponent verily believes
by the Prosecutrix in this ProsecutionAnd which is supported
And this Deponent saith That the Indictment is to supported
by full Evidence who are ready to give Testimony of the
Prosecutrix was present

Sworn at Justice Hall in the
Old Bailey London the 17th.
day of January 1763 .
