in the City of London , and also
to all Constables, and other Officers
whom it may concern, to receive
and convey. And to the Church-
wardens, Chapel-wardens, or Over-
seers of the Poor, of the parish of
Saint Luke
in the County of Middlesex
or either of them, to receive and obey.

WHEREAS Edward Nicholls< no role > was

apprehended in the City of London
as a Rogue and Vagabond wandring abroad in the
open air and giving no good Account of
himself
and upon Examination of the said Edward Nicholls< no role >
taken before me upon Oath, (which Examination is hereunto
annexed) it doth appear, that the last legal Settlement of the said
Edward Nicholls< no role > is in the Said Parish of Saint
Luke

These are therefore to require You and said Keeper
to convey the said Edward Nicholls< no role >

to the said parish of Saint Luke

there to be delivered to some Church-warden, Chapel-warden, or
Overseer of the Poor , there to be provided for according to Law.
And You the said Church-warden, Chapel-wardens, and Overseers of
the Poor, are hereby required to receive the said Edward Nicholls< no role >
and provide for him
as aforesaid. Given under my Hand and Seal this 31
Day of August in the Year of our Lord 17 52.
