Be it remembred that this 30th. day of Novr. 1744 in the City of London Charles Jones< no role > one of the Marshalls
of this City in his proper personas well for himself as the poor of the Parish of Saint Christopher Le Stocks London
Exhibitethbefore Mr Henry Marshall< no role > Esqr . Lord Mayor of the City of London and one of his Majesty's Justices
of the Peace for the City of London and liberties thereof and Information and Informeth Me that Francis Baker< no role > in the
said Parish of Saint Christopher Le Stocks did after the21st. day of December 172124th day of June 1739 To wit on the 29th. day of
Novr. in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty four Ercet Set up or keep an
Office or Place under the Denomination of a Sale of Plate and Jewels for the Improvement of Small Sums of
Money and did sell or Expose to Sale Plate Jewells or other things by way of Lottery or by Lots, Tickets,
Numbers or Figures and did at the time and Place aforesaid Publish untoWilliam Ma [..] Scheme or Thomas G William< no role > Citizen and
Servicener a Scheme or Proposal for the Selling by Subscription a Parish of Plate Jewels which will Consist of Large Tea Tables
Tea Kettles Lamps and Stands, Coffee Pots and Waiters Several Gold and Silver Watches Diamond Earnings
and Rings with a great deal of Small Plate of all Sorts amounting in the Whole to three Thousand
Pounds to be sold in Shares at one Shilling each which will be decided by the Drawing of the present State

and didat the time and placeaforesaid sell unto the said William Martindale< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. two Tickets to Entitle him
to Two Shares in the said Sale Contrary to the form the Statue in that Case made and Provided and he the
said Informant prayeth that the said Francis Baker< no role > may be Convened before Me to answer the Premises
andto Shew Cause if he can why he should not be Convicted of the said Offence and in Case he shall be
Convicted that he the said Informant may receive one third part of the Penalty of Two Hundred
Pounds after reasonable Charges deducted prescrib'd by the said Statute to be forfeited for the
said Offences
