To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate Hond and also to
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
of St. Olave Hart Street London

Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us whose
hands and Seals are here unto Sett two of his Majtys Justices of
the peace for the City of London (Quorn Unus) by the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
St. Botolph with out Bishopsgate London That Joseph Barton< no role >
with Elizabeth< no role > his wife and Mary< no role > their Child aged about Fifteen
months arelately come into the
said Parish endeavouring to Settle there contrary to Law and
unless timely prevented are likely to become chargeable
thereunto which We do adjudge to be true and forasmuch
as it appeareth unto us the said Justices upon the Oath of
the said Joseph Barton That he served his Apprenticeship with
one Francis Bass an Upholder in the Parish of St. Olave Hart Street
London
and no other legal Settlement
elsewhere appearing unto us Since We do also adjudge the
said parish of St. Olave Hart Street to be the place of their last
legal Settlement

These are therefore in his Majesty's name to will & require
you the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said
Parish of St. Botolph Bishopsgate forthwith to remove and convey
the said Joseph Barton with Elizabeth his wife & Mary their Child
from out of your said parish unto the said parish of St. Olave
Hart Street and them deliver unto the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor there Some or one of them who are
hereby required to receive and provide for them according to
Law. Given under our hands and Seals this 7th. day of
MayAnns Dm 1723
