in Bishopsgate Street in the Parish of St Buttolph without Bishops
gate London Hatter on his Oath Saith that on Sunday the 18th. day
of December last about one of the Clock in the morning he laid him
Self down upon a Butchers Hall next Door to the Red Lyon Inn
in Bishopsgate Street in the Said parish of St Buttolph without
Bishopsgate London where he Continued asleep untill about two of
the Clock the same morning at which time he was awak'd by
a man that attempted to putt of his Boos Whereupon he immediately
pursued after him but could not take him, and upon Searching his
Pocketts he found he had last out of them all his many which was
three Shillings and six pence in Silver and threepence in halfpence
and farthings and an Iron Tobacco Box all which he is sure he
had in his Pocketts at the time of his lying down to Keep as
aforesaid together with a Pair of Gloves Value Six pence which was
allso taken from him He further saith that he last his Silver
Laced hall which he supposes was taken from time by the said man as
he lay asleep as above which he value at two shillings and six
pence and is sure that the said Tobacco Box now produced is his and
the very same that was taken out of his Pockett as abovementioned
