That the truth of the prmisses hath been made appear
to us in our open Sessions of the peace held for the Said City at
the Guild hall
thereof not only upon the Oaths of the Said
Poor Sufferers but also by Severall Credible persons who were
Eye witnesses to the same And that the Said Petitioners whose
loss upon a Moderate Computacon amounts unto the Sume of
Seven thousand Six hundred thirty nine pounds thirteen Shillings
and three pence Wee therefore humbly Recomend the prmisseshath
to yor Lordshipps Charitable Consideracon to the end yor. Lopp will
be pleased to grant unto the said over Sufferers, his Majties most
gracious Letters patents Lycence and proteccon under the great
Seal of Great Britain to enable the said poor Sufferers to ask
Collect and Receive the Charitable Alms Benevolence and
Contribucons of his Majties: loveing Subjects for the releif of
the said poor Sufferers and their Familyes in this their
Calamitons and Deplorable Condicon Given under our hands
the Eleventh day of July in the first year of the Reign of
our Sovereign Lord King George by the grace of God of
Great Britain France and Ireland Defender of the Faith Etc.
