To the Rt Honrble Sr Richard Hoare< no role > Knt Lord Maior of the
City of London and to the Rt Worpll the Rest of her Majesty's
Justices of the Peace in the General Quarter Sessions assembled

The humble Petition the Churchwardens and overseers of
the poor of the several Parishes of St Giles without
Cripplegate St Buttolph without Aldgate St Andrew Wardrobe
St Katherine Coleman St Andrew Holborn St Sepulchre
St Brides Allhallows on the Wall St Buttolph Aldersgate
and St Buttolph without Bishopsgate

Sheweth


That your Petitionrs: are very much overburthened with poor & not able to
raise sufficient sumes of mony amongst themselves to releive them
notwithstanding their Assessments are greater then heretofore Yet the
charge of the Poor is far above their Assessments as the same upon their
Examination hath diverse times appeared to several worthy Aldermen of
this City appointed to hear the same And their Poor Dayly increasing
upon them their said Parishes some of them lying near the suburbs
and others of them in the suburbs of this City

Their humble petition therefore unto your good Honr and
Wapps is that you will be favourably pelased to grant unto
them the Contributions of other parishes within this City for &
towards the relieving the poor as they have formerly had which
are particularly hereunder menconed as such further Allowance
as to your Honr and Worpps shall seem meet
