Complaint being this day made unto us two of Her Maties. Justices of the peace for this Cities and the Liberties
thereof (Quorm unus) by You the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the parish of St. Barthew
neare the Royall Exchange London That one Jane Pettit< no role > singlewoman was lately by Warrt. or Order under the

great with Bastard Child and neare the time of her delivery removed from the parish of St. Leonard Shoreditch
in the said County to your said Parish against which said Warrant or Order you appealed to the then next and now
present Quarter Sessions of the peace for the said County At wth. upon the exaiacon of the mres complained of by
you the said Appellants and Argument of Councell on both sides the said Appeale was held good and an Order
of the said Sessions made that the said Jane Pettit< no role > should be returned to and reced by the said parish of St.
Leonard Shoreditch in the County aforesaid and that since the said removeall of the said Jane Pettit to your
said parish and before the argueing of the said Appeale she the said Jane had been delivered of a Male
Bastard Child in your said Parish since baptized Joseph Pettit< no role > and now about two months of age which is
likely to become chargeable to your said Parish if not timely prevented And for a sumth as it appeares unto us
by the oath of the said Jane Pettit that within three dayes or thereabouts next after such her removeall she
was delivered of the said Male Bastard Child which otherwise in all probability would have been bound in
the said Parish of St. Leonard Shoreditch in the said County of Middx whereto the said Jane Pettit has been
appointed to be returned by Order of Sessions as aforesaid by all which it appeares to us that the said Removeall
was frandulently contrived and obtained with intent to avoid such birth there We are there fore of opinion and
doe adjudge the said Male Bastard Child properly and equitably to belong and appertaine to the said Parish
of St. Leonard Shoreditch in the County aforesaid as the place of his just and legall settlement and whereto
of right he ought to be removed These are therefore in Her Maties. name to require you forthwith to
remove and convey the said Joseph Pettit< no role > the said Male Bastard Child from and out of your said parish
of St. Barthew by the Exchange London to the said parish of St. Leonard Shoredith in the County of Middlesex
