Wee the Grand Jury for the Citty of London Sworne to Inquire For our Sovereigne Lord
and Lady the King and Queen At the Sessions of peace And oyer and Terminer
held at Justice Hall
in the Old Baily

That notwithstanding the many good and wholesome Lawes made for the better
observation of the Lords day, yet the Same is frequently profaned by the great
Resort of Idle and Loose persons to Tavernes Coffee houses Ale houses Etca. to the
great Scandall of our Religion and the Lawes of this Kingdom

All Sorts of Gameing, Espetially those New Invented games by Lottery sett on
foot by private persons and not established or by act of Parlament, as being
in many respects very prejudiciall, and more espetially to the younger sort in
this Citty, by means whereof many such, are induced, to defraud there master
to neglect there buisness, and to become acquainted with Idle and loose
persons to there utter ruine

All news papers, perticulerly such as misrepresent the Goverment by
Spreading of false news to the deceiveing and abuseing there majties Subjects,

All disorderly and Lewd women commonly called night walkers, who do pick
up and Corrupt the youth of this Citty, and by whom severall have been lead
into very many mischeifes and inconveniencies, and Some to utter ruine,
And we doe on the behalfe of ourselves and the Inhabitants of this
Citty, perticulerly acknowledge the great care and Endeavors of this present
Lord Mayor, for the punishing and Suppressing all such persons, which hath
produced a very good Effect, And for the which we do returne our most
humble and hearty thanks hopeing that the like care and Endeavors will
be continued by his Successers in that Honorable Station
