The Information of Stephen Stelman of Greenwick Colledge in
the County of Kent
Pensioner taken this 15th day of March 1788
Before me One of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace
in and for the
said County Who being on his Oath saith on Tuesday The Eleventh of March Instant
in the afternoon between the hours of Three and four as he was passing along
Cable Street

The person present who says her name is

and Two other Woman inticed him into a house That he went up
Stairs with Anderson gave her half a Crown and laid upon the Bed with her
and within an hour The said

got up and run down Stairs
says he suspecting she had robbed him her jumped out of Bed rundown Stairs
over took her and charged her with taking his Silver Buckles out of his
Shoes which cost him Eighteen Shillings and on Searching his Pockets
afterwards down Stairs he missed half a Guinea half a Crown and Some Silver Mony amounting
in the whole to Eighteen or nineteen Shillings. Says he is Positive his
said Buckles were in his Shoes and the said sum of Eighteen or nineteen Shills.
in his right hand Breeches pocket at the Time he went to Bed as aforesaid
Says when he came down Stairs he recollects

other women who platised him as aforesaid Saying he had not any mony in his pockets he pulled out of
his said Pocket
[..] The said half a Guinea half a Crown and said Silver mony
and held the same in his Open hand for them to see One of whom knocked the
said Mony out of his hand and all three scrambled for the said Mony the said

and that on Tuesday last in the afternoon between the hours of One and Two Stephen
Stelman came up Stairs into her room where was herself and Jane Wild< no role >
who went out for a Quartern of Rum
to drink and in the mean time the said Stephen Stelman< no role >
and herself went to bed and whilst they
were on the Bed Two Girl who she doth not know came into the Room one of Whom took
the shoes of the said Joseph off the bed and ran down Stairs says she got up ran down stairs
after them [..] leaving the other Give up the room that she staid at a Neighbours until she was
taken denies being present at the Time Stelman says he had his Mony knocked out
of his hands
