The Informations of Christopher Stephenson< no role > at No. 65 Wapping Wall
Shadwell Merchant taken the 27th: day of December 1786 Who being on Oath
Says On Friday Morning Last between the Hours of Four and Five he
Thought he [..] heard some persons in his house he got up opened the Sash and called
out Watch to no purpose. That he saw as Man coming along who he asked if his Windows
were fast who answered One was wide OpenThat he got up went down Stairs
and found one of his Window Shutters broke open and on Examining the Room
discovered his Desk had been forced open in which was a Tin Japan Box and the
Top of a Womans Glove which had Twenty five Guineas in Gold and between Three and
Four pounds in Silver a pocket book containing a Bill drawn on Thomas Weatherlad< no role >
& Co. for Ten pounds due Jany 4th: 1787 One other Bill drawn on John Smith< no role > No. 54 in
Friday Street due 2 Jany 1787 for Nighteen pounds a Note of hand from George Durgar
due 10 Jan 1787 payable to the said Christopher Stephenson< no role > for £159.10s Two Draft
drawn by the said Christopher Stephenson< no role > One on Henry Jackson< no role > for £58.6s.10d the other
on Thomas Trenholine< no role > for £141.14s And as Bill for £117.10s drawn [..] by one
Etches on Thomas [..] Parks< no role > of the Temple Accepted and not paid due
more than Two Months sinceTwo small French plate [..] Butter boats
Flused were taken out of his said house the same morning
