The Information of William Tanner< no role >
Taken the said 7th. Sepr. 1787

Who upon Oath Saith That as they were
Coming by Bleeding heart yard They were Stopped
by a great Number of persons and Chapman was
among them That he [..] Called to Chapman as he
well knew him and he Came up to him and said [..]
is it you Tanner and Chapman then felt at his
Fob for his Watch and he Called out But was
knocked down instantly but by whom he Cannot
say, That hearing Abbott say That the Men were
using Robbins Ill and beating him he went to his
assistance and he had another Scuffle and they got to
Saffron hill where he was knocked down again
and as he was Rising Chapman Came to him and gave
him a Blow on the Side of his head which brought him
to the ground again and then they all went off

That he then went home and about half an hour
aftewards Chapman Came to his House and said he
hoped [..] he did not think he had used him Ill That
Informant said he had and then he sent for the
Watchman and had him Secured
