The Examination of Ladi an East Indian [..]
taken before me this 30th. day of May 1787

Who says that he came over From the East Indies
with Stephen Sullivan< no role > Esquire and his Lady about two Years
Ago as an Attendant to Master Sullivan a Child about three
Years and a half old That he continued in that Situation
till the 14th. Instant that the first Robbery he committed
in his Masters House in Harley Street was about twelve month
ago when he brought down a bundle of sewing Silk from a
deal Cloaths Press which Silk he shewed to Frances Madan< no role >
a Cook who then lived with Mr. Sullivan to when at her
request he gave the same containing about six or seven
Stains Says that about two or three days after the said Madan
desired him to give her a little more which he did That she
ask'd him to give her Something to Keep for his Sake when he
gave her two Muslin Handkerchiefs That soon after the
said Madan left the Service of Mr. Sullivan Peggy the
House Maid requested him to go into the Garret saying that
the Cook had informed her there was a closet in the Garrett
with a Patent lock upon it That on seeing the Key of the
said Present lock left by his Mistress on a bunch of Keys That
they accordingly went up together opened the Closet and opened a
Chart from whence they took one Silk Handkerchiefs which said
Handkerchiefs she the said Peggy low off pan the Piece And this
Examinant further Says that about a Week after this time
he brought down out of said Garrett a brown velvet Coat which
he Shewed to Robert Atrill< no role > who was Butler to said Mr. Sullivan
who had before expressed a desire of seeing the said Coat for
the purpose of knowing what he could sell it for That on bringing
down the said Coat the said Atrill observed to him there was
Waistcoat and Breeches belonging to it and bid him go for them
That he accordingly brought them down and delivered them to
Said Atrill who sold them to a Jew in this Examinants presence
for Nineteen Shillings half of which he gave this Examinant
That about two days after at the request of said Atrill he brought
down another Suit of Cloaths of the same kind And this Examinant
further Says that a few days after he this Examinant unlocked
the place in which his Mistress Keeps her Cloaths from whence
said Atrill took a Chintz Gown and Petticoat which he took
