first a Lock and afterwards a Chest Handle
which was fastend to the Remains of a Chest
That upon Clarys. seeing this ChestSaid. that
is the Chest wherein my Property was. I know
it by the Handle, That the Remains of the Chest
were afterwards entirely dug out of the Ruins, but
upon carefully searching the Content, to this
Informants astonishment, nothing was found in
itbut a considerable Quantity of Hay Banks
Rolls of Paper. and other Rubbishthe whole
of which appeard to have been dep'd or Soakd in
Stinking Oillike lamp Oil)That on Clary
seeing the Contents of this Chest not consumed, he
endeavourd to Destroy it, by taking out the Rolls.
of Paper tearing them in Pieces, and Streding
them in diferent parts of the Ruins, untill
he was prevented from so doing, by the Surveyor
who forbid him to proceed any further, &
ordered this Informant, to prevent the Sufferer
from meddling any men with them,
That this Informant observed to Clary
when he found the Lock among the Ruins that
of he had the Key, it would prove wether
