Thomas Casey< no role > for subomation
of Perjury

Thomas Casey< no role > of buckeridge Street in the Parish of
Saint Giles in the County of Middlesex Potatore
Merchant the above named Defendant & Francis
Martin Hamilton
< no role > of Bow Street Covent Garden
in the said County the Defendants Sollic [..]
severally make oath and say and first this
Deponent Thomas Casey< no role > for himself saith
that a Bill of Indictment being found by the
Grand Qury for the City of London last
February Sessions against one William Smith< no role >
for Perjury and against this Deponent for
subernation of Perjury whereupon this Deponent
was taken up by a Bench Warrant and entered
into Recognizance with two Surities to appear
to the said Indictment and the said William
Smith
< no role > not being able to enter into Recognizance
for his appearance to the said Indictment was
confused in his Majestys Gaol of Newgate [..]
Nut the said William Smith< no role > and Thomas Casey< no role >
Previous to the last Sessions at the Old Baily gave Notice told
Prosecution that they Evanld appears and Traverse thand by the
said Indictment Prefered by her against them And they
accordingly entered their Traverse took at the [..] and all
things necessary according to the Practice of the said Court to being
the said Indictment to be tryed And this Deponent Thomas Casey< no role >
Attended at the said Sessions for the space of Eight days with
near twenty Witnesses during the whole time who were necessary
for his defene and when the said Indictment was called on
the Judge would not proceed to try the said Indictment because
the Action was still pending in the Court of Kings Bench
and no Judgment obtained there in the Indictment being upon
an Affidavit of Debt from the Court of things Bench upon
which the Prosecuted was held to bail and the said William
Smith
< no role > was then discharged out of Newgate upon his own
