The several Informations of Edward Lucas< no role > a Constable
and Thomas Furmage< no role > Taken the 25th. day of March
1786

Who upon their Oaths severally say and First the said Edward
Lucas
< no role > for himself Saith That about Eleven oClock in the
forenoon of the 21st. Instant he Met one William Minton< no role >
in Vinegar Yard near Saint Giles's Work house and observing
something under his Coat he suspected he had Stolen it and
therefore he followed him and upon Searching him he found a
Quart pewter pot which had the Name of the said Thos: Furmage< no role >
upon it hidden under his Coat That he asked him what he was
going to do with it when he Cryed and said he was going to
Sell it in Lewkners Lane at an Old Iron Shop and that he had taken
it from a door in Rathbone Place That this Informant told him [..]
if he would tell him where the Man who bought Them lived
he would Speak to the Justice to Favor him Where upon he Took
this Informant to the House of one Charles Fletcher< no role > who keeps
an Old Iron Shop in Lewkners Lane when the said Wm: Minton
went into the House and this Informant stead at some Distance and
in about 2 or 3 Minutes afterwards Minton returned produced
Six penny worth of half pence and said he had sold the pot for Six
pence to the Man of the House That this Informant then went into the
said Fletchers House and in a Back place where Fletcher was he
found the said Pot in the Fire and upon Searching the premises found
a large Quality of pewter Melted down He therefore took the said
Charles Fletcher< no role > into Custody with the said Pot and the pewter and
some Iron Cars.

And this Informant Thomas Furmage< no role > for himself
Saith That he has at different times lost a great Number
of pewter pots and that the pewter pot now produced is his
property and is of the Value of One Shilling and upwards.
