The Examination of Frederick Daniel
Lucas
< no role > taken before me this 10th. day of December 1786 .

Who saith that he was born at Hanover and bred
a Labourer That he has been in England about three
Years That he knows a Person now present who goes
by the Nickname of Chilliby but who now calls
himself Edward Ham< no role > also a Person now present
who calls himself Joseph Reay< no role > and an Irish
Sailor who is commonly called Jack but whose real
Name this Examinant does not know That on
Thursday last this Examinant was at the Sun
Alehouse at Saint Catharines in Company with
said Ham and said Jack when said Ham proposed
to go a Robbing which they agreed to That about
two o'Clock in the afternoon of said Day they all
three left the Sun aforesaid and went upon the
Road which Road this Examinant is informed is
the Edgware Road That they stop't a Man on
Horseback and robbed him of a Silver Watch and
three Shillings and that they afterwards stopt
another man in a Cart and robbed him of one
Shilling and six pence and then came to Town together
That this Examinant said Ham and said Jack
met at said Sun Alehouse the next Morning when
they agreed to Pawn said Watch and went together
to a Pawn brokers in Houndsditch for that purpose
That he this Examinant went in and Pawned the
said Watch for one Guinea during which time
the said Two Men stood at the door That they then
divided said Guinea among then each having
Seven Shillings And this Examinant further says
that he was at said Sun Alehouse yesterday about
twelve o'Clock when said Ham called him out and
proposed to him to go robbing again that Evening
