The Information of Sarah Lee< no role > of Arrow Alley
Petticoat Lane in his City of London Widow
taken before me this 9th. day of February 1785

Who being on Oath says that on Tuesday the 11th. of January last
about three o'Clock in the Afternoon, Sarah Emanuel< no role > now present in
company with Moses Levy< no role > commonly called "Monchee Pop" and
Judith Levy< no role > his Wife came to this Informant's House in Arrow
Alley aforesaid, with three Bundles of Lace, viz one White, one
Black and the third Blond Lace; when said Moses Levy< no role > asked
Informant if she would Buy said Lace, and she replied Geo.
That said Moses Levy< no role > then opened said Bundles of Lace,
and not being upon Cards, Informant asked him why, the Lace
was without Cards when said Moses Levy replied that the
"Informant must be careful not to dispose of them in London,
"but to take them with her into the Country, as they had been
"got on the Crack in King Street Covent Garden ; and that if,
"she Bought them, she should have the Preference of the rest
" that were taken, viz Gloves Ribbons Gaures and Modes".
That Informant asked him the Price of said Lace, and said Levy
replied 50 Giuneas, when Informant observed that she was
afraid to have any thing to do with them; after which said
Moses Levy and his Wife took them away.
