taken before me this 2nd,
day of December 1783
Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Robert
Becket< no role >
says that about ¼ past 7 oClock last Night he was
robbed about a Mile and Quarter on this side Acton in
the County of Middlesex
of a Farthing a sixpence and
about fifteen penny worth of Halfpence by two Footpads
and further says that he doth verily believe that two persons
now present who call themselves William Crouch< no role >
and
William Haines< no role >
are the Footpads that so robbed him as
aforesaid and that a Farthing now produced is the
Farthing of which he was robbedAnd the said William
Bowyer< no role >
says that he, with others, last Night about ½ past
8 oClock apprehended the said William Crouch< no role >
and William
Haines< no role >
at Acton and found the said Farthing inhis
the right hand Breeches Pocket of the said William
Crouch< no role >
