These are to Certify that at the Delivery of the Kings Gaol of
Newgate holden for the County of Middlesex at Justice hall in the Old
Bailey in the Suburbs of the City of London on Wednesday the twenty ninth
day of October in the twenty fourth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the third King of Great Britain etc. Before Nathaniel Newnham< no role >
Esquire Mayor of the City of London James Adair< no role > one of his Majesty's Serjeants
at Law Recorder of the said City and other their fellows Justices of our said
Lord the King assigned to deliver the said Gaol of Newgate of the prisoners
there in being James Alderson< no role > of the age of forty fiveyears, Hugh
Murray< no role > of the age of thirty five years, Benjamin Colbourne< no role > of the age of twenty
nine Years James Gough< no role > of the age of twenty nine Years, James Blackwell< no role > of
the age of twenty one Years, William Bell< no role > of the age of twenty six Years, John
Nunn< no role > of the age of twenty Years, Charles Smith< no role > of the age of Twenty one
Francis O'Neal of the age of twenty Years, Honor Cullen of the age of nineteen
Years & Martha Martin< no role > of the age of thirty one Years were severally Convicted of
Grand Larceny And were then and there severally Ordered and Adjudged to be
Imprisoned and kept to hard Labour in the House of Correction a Clerkenwell
to wit the said James Alderson< no role > , and Hugh Murray< no role > for the space of Twelve
Calendar Months; the said Benjamin Colbourne< no role > , James Gough< no role > , James Blackwell< no role >
William Bell< no role > , John Nunn< no role > , Charles Smith< no role > and Francis O'Neal, Honor Cullen
and Martha Martin< no role > for the space of Six Calendar Months And the said James
Alderson< no role > , Hugh Murray< no role > , Benjamin Colbourne< no role > , James Gough< no role > , James Blackwell< no role > ,
William Bell< no role > , John Nunn< no role > , Charles Smith< no role > and Francis O'Neal were further
severally Ordered to be openly and publickly Whipped And the said Honor Cullen to
be Privately Whipped twice and the said Martha Martin< no role > to be Privately Whipped
once Pursuant to the Statute in such Case made and provided Dated this hath
day of November in the Year of our Lord 1783
