The Information of James Murphy< no role > servant to Mr Thomas
Donne
< no role > of Masons Court in the Parish of Saint Mary White
Chapel in the said County Silk Throwster A [..] rabella
the Wife of the said Thomas Donne< no role > and Charles Earl< no role > one
of the Beadles of the said Parish taken on Oath
before me John Staples< no role > Esqr one of His Majestys
Justices of the Peace for the said County this 27th
day of February 1782

First this Informant James Murphy< no role > on his Oath saith that he
Turns one of the Silk Threwing Mills belonging to the said Thomas
Donne
< no role > that about Eight o'Clock this Morning when at his Duty he
saw Hannah Eaten the Person now Present who is the Thread
maker belonging to his said Mill take one Bobbin and a [..]
Quantity of Silk and put it in her Pocketupand having Suspicion
of her having several times Robbed the Mill before he made
a Signal to one of his fellow servants to call his Mistress
who came into the Shop and on being informed what had happened
she sent for an Officer and had the said Hannah Eaton searches
[..]

This Informant Arrabella Donne< no role > on her Oath saith that
being sent for and informed that the Prisoner Hannah
Eaton
< no role > was suspected of having Stolen a Quantity of
Silk and Particularlythatthis Morning by the said
[..] es Murphy who had given her to understandthat
[..] the said Hannah Eaton< no role > had then taken a Bobbin
[..] put it in her Pocket she sent for an Officer and had
the said Hannah Searched in her Presence [..] (who then
Denied having any Silk about her) and in her Pocket were
found about Six Ounces of Bengal Silk wound on two
Bobbins which said Silk and Bobbins are the Property
of her Husband the said Thomas Donne< no role > and the same that
are now produced which the Prisoner then Confessed to
have Stolen & Crased Mercy

This Informant Charles Earle< no role > on his Oath saith that
he was sent for by the said Arabella Donne< no role > and
that he took out of the Pocket of the Prisoner the said
Hannah Eaton< no role > two Bobbins and a Quantity of
Silk wound thereon and that thesaidBobbins and
Silk now by him produced are the same he so Pound in
the Pocket of the Prisoner.
